After Jackie put on a pair of light blue ridding boots, (Jareth promised to transform them into blue silk slippers when they got to his fathers palace) Jareth carried Jackie to the stables. Jackie began to protest, but Jareth silenced her with a kiss. After that, Jackie had laid her head against Jareth's shoulder. When they got the stables, Jareth showed her her horse, a beautiful white Arab. Her coat glimmered in the sun. Jareth set Jackie on the ground.
"Say hello," he whispered in her ear. Jackie suppressed a giggle. His breath tickled. Jackie hesitantly stepped up to the horse.
"Hello," she whispered. "My name is Jackie. What's yours?" To her surprise, the horse replied.
"My name is Snow."
"Snow," Jackie rolled the name on her tounge, " That's a beautiful name." Jareth took her arm.
"Meet my horse. His name is Flame. He is mate to Snow." Jareth showed her a glorious black horse. His thighs quivered as he pawed the ground.
"Hello Jackie," Flame greeted her. Jackie smiled and stroked his nose.
"I don't mean to rush you Jackie, but if we are to get to my fathers castle before sundown, we must leave now." Jackie climbed onto Snow, and Jareth mounted Flame. Jackie sighed. Jareth looked so regal and handsome sitting on his horse. Jackie soon began to quiver. Jareth dismounted Flame and came over to her.
"What's wrong my darling?" he asked.
"I've never been on a horse before. I'm slightly frightened."
"Slightly?" Jareth replied. "You were shaking like a leaf!" Both Jareth and Jackie burst into peals of laughter. Jareth showed Jackie how to ride, and Snow began to chuckle.
"Don't worry, I will never let you fall," Snow assured her. Jackie smiled.
"Thank you Snow," Jackie thanked the horse.
"Are you ready to go?" Jareth asked.
"Yes, but stay close. It's not that I don't trust Snow, I don't trust myself."
"Darling," Jareth smile, "I'm just happy to have an excuse to be near you." He moved his horse closer to her so he could catch her if she fell.
